Development of electricity consumption profiles of residential buildings based on smart meter data clustering

In the present research, a high-resolution, detailed electric load dataset was assessed, collected by smart meters from nearly thousand households in Hungary, many of them single-family houses. The objective to evaluate this database detail determine energy consumption profiles time series daily and annual load. After representativity check were developed, applying three different clustering methods (k-means, fuzzy k-means, agglomerative hierarchical) cluster validity indexes (elbow method, silhouette Dunn index) MATLAB environment. best method for our examination proved be k-means technique. Analyses carried out identify consumer groups, as well clarify impact specific parameters such meter type housing unit (e.g. peak, off-peak meter), day week weekend, weekday), seasonality, geographical location, settlement (single-family house, flat, age class building). Furthermore, four user profile types proposed, which can used building demand simulation, summer heat winter heating calculation.
